When to go

For Antarctic Peninsula voyages, compare the austral-summer program below. Ross Sea, South Georgia and Falkland Islands routes follow different seasonal and logistical patterns; use their individual guides and the operator’s published itinerary.

The Peninsula season begins

November

Compare published Peninsula departures and their planned routes. Sea ice and weather can limit access; the expedition team adapts the program.

Good to know

Before the journey takes shape

A few useful details, with the rest shaped around you.

How far ahead should we begin planning?

Choose the expedition and departure first, then coordinate flights, any pre-voyage stay, and the operator’s documents and equipment requirements.

How will we travel?

Most visitors explore by expedition ship, with small-boat outings or landings when conditions allow. Some programs include flights; compare the exact route, transfers and activities before choosing.

Can we combine several destinations?

Some expeditions combine the Antarctic Peninsula with South Georgia or the Falkland Islands. These are longer journeys, so compare total sea time and the full route.

How do the interest choices work?

These choices open expedition cruise searches for Antarctica. Check each itinerary for its actual route, activities and landing program, or ask Gloria to help compare the options.
