Terms of Use

The conditions that govern use of the Copper Lantern Travel website.

These Website Terms of Use ("Terms") govern access to and use of copperlanterntravel.com and related pages, content, forms, supplier search or pricing tools, and online features operated by Copper Lantern LLC d/b/a Copper Lantern Travel ("Copper Lantern Travel," "we," "us," or "our"). By using the website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the website.

Separate booking contract. These Terms govern the website. They do not replace the Travel Services & Booking Terms and Conditions, a supplier's terms, or a written proposal, invoice, authorization, or confirmation governing actual travel services.

1. Eligibility and permitted use

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a contract to submit a trip request, approve a quote, or make a purchase. You may use the website only for lawful travel planning and only in accordance with these Terms.

2. Prohibited uses

You agree not to:

  • Use the website to violate law, infringe rights, harass others, transmit harmful material, or make fraudulent, speculative, false, or unauthorized requests or reservations.
  • Interfere with site security or operation; introduce malware; probe or circumvent access controls; scrape, crawl, harvest, or use automated tools except as allowed by law and our written permission.
  • Copy, frame, mirror, republish, sell, or commercially exploit website content, branding, itineraries, research, or recommendations without written permission.
  • Misrepresent your identity, authority, traveler information, eligibility, payment authorization, or relationship to another person.

3. General information and changing travel conditions

Website content is general information and inspiration, not a guaranteed offer, final itinerary, professional legal or medical advice, or a promise that any destination, supplier, property, vessel, excursion, transportation service, price, feature, visa rule, health protocol, accessibility feature, or amenity will be available or suitable for you. Travel conditions can change quickly. Confirm material details in the final supplier documents and seek qualified professional advice where appropriate.

4. Supplier content, pricing, and availability

The website may display or link to cruise, excursion, hotel, transportation, package, insurance, or other supplier content and prices. Unless expressly stated otherwise:

  • Prices, promotions, inclusions, taxes, fees, exchange rates, inventory, cabin or room categories, and cancellation conditions are supplied by third parties and may change until a reservation is confirmed and required payment is received.
  • A displayed search result or quote request is not a reservation, price lock, or guarantee of availability. Images and descriptions may be representative.
  • Per-person prices may assume stated occupancy, dates, eligibility, loyalty status, residency, or other conditions. Single supplements, resort or destination fees, gratuities, taxes, port charges, fuel supplements, transfers, insurance, and optional items may apply as disclosed in the offer and before payment.
  • For covered short-term lodging, any price we present as the price of the stay will include mandatory charges known and calculable at that time, while government charges and genuinely optional items may be disclosed separately as allowed by law. Before payment, the final amount and excluded charges will be disclosed.
  • If a supplier or booking platform controls the display or checkout, that party is responsible for its transaction interface; please report an apparent pricing inconsistency to us before booking.

5. Errors and corrections

We try to present accurate information but do not warrant that supplier feeds or website content are complete, current, or error-free. We may correct an error, withdraw content, or decline a request. If a confirmed booking is affected, the controlling supplier rules and applicable law govern the available remedy.

6. Third-party services

The website may link to or embed services operated by suppliers, host agencies, payment processors, insurers, mapping services, social networks, review platforms, or booking providers. A link or integration does not mean we control or endorse every statement, security practice, or service. Your use of a third-party service is governed by that party's terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for third-party sites, except to the extent responsibility cannot lawfully be excluded.

7. Forms and electronic communications

Submitting a form authorizes us to respond using the contact information provided. A request does not obligate either party to complete a booking. You consent to receive transactional communications electronically. Promotional communications are governed by applicable consent and unsubscribe rules. You are responsible for maintaining accurate contact information and reviewing messages and documents promptly.

8. Intellectual property

The website and its original text, graphics, arrangement, logos, trade names, research, itinerary presentation, and other content are owned by Copper Lantern Travel or used with permission and are protected by intellectual-property laws. Supplier names, marks, photographs, and descriptions belong to their respective owners. We grant you a limited, revocable, nonexclusive, nontransferable right to access the website for its intended purpose. No other license is granted.

9. Content you submit

If you submit a review, testimonial, photograph, or other content for publication, you retain ownership but grant us a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, format, and display it for the purpose you authorized. You represent that you have the necessary rights and may withdraw permission for future use by contacting us, subject to copies already lawfully published or required to be retained.

10. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information across the website and broader business. Third-party services handle information under their own policies. Do not submit highly sensitive information through an unsecured form or ordinary email unless we direct you to do so.

11. Website disclaimer

12. Limitation of liability

13. Responsibility for misuse

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to reimburse Copper Lantern Travel for reasonable losses, liabilities, and costs arising from your unlawful website use, your material breach of these Terms, or content you submit that infringes another person's rights. This obligation does not apply to losses caused by our own negligence, willful misconduct, or violation of law.

14. Suspension and termination

We may restrict or terminate website access when reasonably necessary to protect the website, users, suppliers, or our legal rights, or to respond to misuse or legal requirements. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except that mandatory consumer protections of your home jurisdiction remain available. Before filing a claim, each party should give the other written notice and 30 days to attempt an informal resolution. This clause does not prevent a party from seeking urgent injunctive relief, using small-claims court where eligible, or making a complaint to a regulator. Any court proceeding that is not eligible for small-claims court should be brought in a court with lawful jurisdiction in Indiana, unless applicable law requires another forum.

16. Changes and general provisions

We may update these Terms by posting a revised version with a new effective date. Changes apply prospectively unless law permits otherwise and additional consent is obtained when required. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum lawful extent and the remainder will continue. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms, together with incorporated policies and any separate transaction documents, are the agreement concerning website use.

18. Address notice

No residential address is published in these Terms. A business postal address may be supplied privately where legally required.
